I have a second edition of Wucius and Benjamin Wong's Visual Design on the Computer which was published by W. W. Norton in 2001. Nearly perfect given the age of my computer and software.
Wucius Wong is my new hero. Aside from having a knock-out cover, this book explains how to make Photoshop perform like a graphic artist would like it to. If you have been trying to get an handle on digital collage as I have been, check out this book!
Also highly recommended are: Principles of Color Design, Principles of Two-Dimensional Design, and Principles of Three-Dimensional Design.
