Back when I first started participating in Marie's postcard exchange, I commented that I had a chicken postcard somewhere. This week I finally found it!
"Marblehead Mass, Dear Sir. In answer to your inquiry will say that I could not make any reduction on larger lots, as my eggs and chicks are booked in advance. If you are in need of an early shipment kindly let me hear from you at an early date. Yours respectfully Chas Robinson."
Glued to the postcard is a newspaper clipping of a classified advertisement reading:

Whoa, very interesting postal card configuration -- extra space on the front in case your message needs to carry over! I hadn't seen that before.
Oh, I just love this post! I used to raise chickens for the county livestock show when I was in high school. I remember getting the call from the post office that they were in...25 little fuzzy chicks all crowded in a box with holes in it!
The clippings are great. I always picture all chickens looking the same. I love to see the different kinds at the state fair.
I've always loved chickens, ever since I kept my own years ago.
