These two paintings from the collection of The Art Institute of Chicago have been reproduced as part of a set of art postcards from a game called Masterpiece: The Art Auction Game. Above is Thanksgiving ( c. 1935) by Doris Lee.
And this is Peter Blume's The Rock (1948). Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and is enjoying the left-overs on this Postcard Friendship Friday!

Have you ever heard of Charley Parker? I haven't looked for any of his art yet, but I just spent the last three days digging to the bottom of his blog. And do not ask me how I found him, cuz I can't remember: http://www.linesandcolors.com/
And - if you'll send your snail mail addy to me via ddcachets@gmail.com , I'll send the Sheilah Shaw book to you.
These are great. I love the Art Institute of Chicago. I could get lost in there forever! Happy PFF
Do you mean Charley Harper? His bird illustrations are so nice. I heard about him through the blog Grain Edit.

Oh yeah, Masterpiece! I had almost forgotten about that game. Thanks for reminding me with these wonderful postcards.
Nope. Charley Parker. He has an online comic site: Argon Zark!
Beautiful cards. Thanks! And happy PFF!
I have had the Thanksgiving postcard for a very long time, but I never heard of an art game using postcards.
The top card is especially wonderful! The details is amazing - every little part of the picture tells a story.
Those postcard are so 'vintage' in colors.
Happy PFF !
